We announce the death of Mitch Buckalew of Paradise, Texas, who passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 60. Mitch will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Ray Buckalew and Patricia Ann Buckalew (Stone); his grandparents, Jim Vernon Stone, Doris Blanche Stone (Wheeler), Ezra Lafayette Buckalew and Mary Telitha Buckalew (Massey); and his pet Pete.
He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Buckalew of Paradise; his daughters, Heather Buckalew of Wichita Falls and Rikki Young (Tommy Young) of Lewisville; his uncle Danny Buckalew (Beth Buckalew) of Mineral Wells; his stepfather Lee Franklin (June Franklin) of Graham; his cousin Josh Vaughn of Graham; and his sister Kristi Escue (Shawn Escue) of Pueblo, CO.. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Mitch asked that donations be made to the Young County Humane Society or to a local animal rescue organization in your area.
