With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darrell Thomas Hawkes Sr. of Paris, Texas, born in Victoria, Texas, who passed away on April 5, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Karen Leigh Hawkes; his parents, T. G. Hawkes (Thomas George) and Alice Hawkes; and his parents-in-law, Leon and Hattie Horne.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his siblings, Mike Hawkes (Janie) and Linda Fitzhugh (Michael); his children, Darrell Thomas Hawkes Jr. (Dee) and Stacie Johnson (Douglas); his grandchildren, Matthew Johnson (Megan), Samuel Thomas Hawkes (Ashley Najavar), Nichole Hawkes, Michayla Hawkes, Jake Johnson and Tucker Johnson (Karli Jo Shelton); and his great grandchild Jace Thomas Johnson.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family would request charitable donations be made to: Camp Kiwanis, PO Box 554, Paris, Texas 75461 to be used for a camp improvement project in his memory.
