He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Dabbs and Mary Hoey Dabbs; his son Robert "Bobby" Dabbs; and his siblings, Alan Dabbs (Jim Dabbs) and Pat Nation (Beth Dabbs Cope).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Dabbs; his son Craig Dabbs; his grandchildren, Brian Dabbs and Klay Dabbs; his stepgrandchildren, Brook House (Trent) and Jeff Gordon (Melissa); his brother-in-law B. D. Nation; and his nephews, Mark Nation and Mike Nation.
