We are sad to announce that on March 28, 2024, at the age of 80, Johnette Hicks of Paris, Texas, born in Temple, Texas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Johnette Hicks to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Jesse Stracener Sr. and Melba Stracener of Temple, TX; and her siblings, Reba Hedgecoth and Jesse Stracener Jr. of Temple, TX.. She is survived by : her husband James Wayne Hicks of San Antonio, TX; her son Joseph A. Mihatsch III (Courtney) of La Grange, TX; her stepchildren, Jordan Delaney (Kevin) of San Antonio, TX, Julie Canales (Carl) of Hopkinton, MA and James Jason Hicks of Crawford, TX; her sisters, Esse Stracener of Temple, TX and Erlene Swafford of Clarkrange, TN.; and her grandchildren, Kambri, Gage, Rogan, Riley, Finn, Beckett, Dylan, Jackson and Sydney. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the EOAC Johnette Hicks Head Start/Early Head Start in her honor at 500 Franklin, Waco, TX 76701.
