He was predeceased by: his wife Harvlyn Cain; his parents, Arthur Cain and Opal Byram Burdick; his stepfather Sam Burdick; his daughter Kimberly Dee Cain; his stepson Jimmy Cain; and his siblings, Crawford Cain and Josephine "Sharon" Cain Hunt.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Pipkin (Kevin) and Kevin Cain (Christi); his grandchildren, Kari Sides, Alex Plexico, Matthew Plexico, Kelly Harlin and Wesley Cain; his sister Cupadyne Burdick; and his daughter Kathy Dillen. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any Alzheimer's or Dementia Foundation.
