She was predeceased by : her parents, Arthur Grounds and Martha Haynie Grounds; her husband Herman Irdell McClain; her son Herman Arthur McClain; her grandchildren, Jennifer McClain Lee and Robert Matthew Davis; and her siblings, Frances Flanary, Marjorie Dozier, Sarah Denison, John Grounds and Betty Thompson.
She is survived by : her children, Ruth Ann McClain Davis (Tom), Annette McClain Cogburn (Ben), Mike Ross McClain (Deborah Brown), Mark David McClain and Harold Edward McClain (Alice); and her sister Camilla Smyers. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
