He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Velazquez and Angelita "Nena" Velazquez; his brother Robert Velazquez; his siblings-in-law, Eula Velazquez (Beula), Judy Weigand (Pooty) and J. B. Goolsby; and his former wife Benita Velazquez.
He is survived by: his wife Dora Velazquez; his siblings, Mary Ann "Mimi" Goolsby, Larry Velazquez (Carolina) and Donald Velazquez (Billie); his children, Desiree Dillard (Mark), Denee Velazquez-Murillo (Phillip), Linda Garza (Abner) and Gabriel Vela (Jessica); his granddaughters, Hillary Hankins (Dustin), D'Lana Cruz (Joe), Taylor Gilcrease (Colby) and Mia Vela (Weston Rogers); his great grandchildren, Karis, Joei, Ty, Joey, Gray, Athena, Levi, Micah, Peyton and Walker Joe; and his aunt Eva Sanchez. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Grand View Funeral Home (8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery (8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505).
