He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nitzsche and Gloria Nitzsche; his daughter Tracy Jean; and his brother Don. He is survived by: his wife Cindy; his grandson Anthony; his parents-in-law, A. B. and Jule; his aunt Mary-Lou; and his siblings-in-law, Jenni, Barry (Kristin), Mark (Janet), Charles (Roxy), Kyle (Michelle) and James (Gaby). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
