He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Long and Mary McAfee; his siblings, Christina Long, Genelle Ceaser, Lee Etta Brown, Ozella King and Carl Ray Long; his son Eugene Long Jr.; and his grandchildren, Eugene Long III (Trey), Jeremy Mitchell and Jessie Barnard Austin Jr..

He is survived by: his daughters, Alicia Long, Ernesia Thomas, Elanda Long-Minger and Rosie Austin (Jessie); and his grandchildren, Jazmine Long, Eugenia Long, Eugencia Long, Fabian Austin, Shyann Minger, Cinsere Minger, Cliffton Minger Jr., Janesia Garner and Troy Ned Jr.. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
