He was predeceased by: his wife Mary. He is survived by: his children, Ellen Sekumade, Rollin Short (Maureen) and Karen Short; his grandchildren, Jonathan, David Sekumade, Daniel and Annalise Short; and his sister Danna Morgan. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the South Park Chapel (1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Crossroads United Methodist Church (10030 Scarsdale Blvd, Houston, TX 77089).
