He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles McDaniel and Colleen McDaniel; his brothers, James McDaniel and John McDaniel; and his grandchildren, Parker McDaniel and Braedyn McDaniel.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie McDaniel; his children, Gerald "Ryan" McDaniel (Audrey), Michelle Murdock and Christopher McDaniel; his grandchildren, Riley Murdock, Dawson Murdock, Devon Murdock, Maverick McDaniel, Mason McDaniel, Kody McDaniel, Jordan McDaniel, Elise McDaniel and Summer McDaniel; his siblings, Carol Allen and Paul McDaniel; and his nieces, Michelle Budd (Joey), Kelly Lariviere (Craig) and Tracy Tillman (Josh). He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

I stood there with a very puzzled look on my face wondering why my uncle was asking me this? I relied, no. He then said,Soup because it will leak out your dimples,hahaha. How cute an funny i thought that was. Also you use to have those 2 black Scottish dogs. I always thought they were twins,just because they were the same color and size, smh. The nieve,innocent thinking as a child i was. Your looks always reminded me of Michael Landing when I was little. You were always the clown at family events too lol. So to the rest of my family including my dad Paul Mc.Daniel, Aunt Debbie,his children,grandchildren my condolences. This is not goodbye it's I will see you later.”
