He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hankins and Imogene Anderson; his siblings, Roy Hankins, Linda Rogers and Doris Skaggs; and his great-niece Jordan Azevedo.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Hankins; his sons, Roger Hankins (Shelli Hankins), Gary Hankins and Brian Hankins (Alisan Hankins); his grandchildren, Allison Dickey (Kevin Dickey), Jonathan Hankins (Kaitlyn Hankins) and Owen Hankins; his great grandchildren, Eli Dickey, Jaiden Dickey and Addyson Hankins; and his siblings, Dean Hankins and Becky Mika. He is also survived by extended family and a long list of close friends.
