He was predeceased by: his son Darris Alan; his parents, Frederick Smith and Gladys Smith; his brothers, Victor and Marcus; and his father-in-law W. D. Duncan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Natalie Joy and Noelle Ellen; his grandchildren, Aleaha and Darrius; his siblings, Gary (Marian) and Lorraine; his sisters-in-law, Liz Smith and Kalletta Pemberton (Bryan); and his pet Mason. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
