He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Zelma Lavena Gossard and Lonnie Risner; his sister Rita; his wife Mary Risner; his children, Jeff Risner and Deede Furman (Michael); his grandchildren, Evan Furman (Mikelle) and Addison Campbell (Gary); his great grandchildren, Hadley Furman, Kinsley Campbell, Cash Furman and Foard Campbell; his brother Ernie Risner (Celia); his nieces, Pam Downing and Shelley Jenkins; his nephew Scott Risner; and his close friend Choc.

Memorial donations may be made in Weldon's name to Hospice Austin Christopher House, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, and Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
