He is survived by: his wife Ramona Alvarez Almazan; his children, Yolanda Barnett (Paul), Diana Almazan, Vangie Rivas (Willie), Melba Pena (Omar), Jose Nieves Almazan Jr. (Lucy), Javier Almazan (Alicia) and Israel Almazan (Yolanda); and his siblings, Aurora Almazan Macias, Lupita Almazan Vega, Cruz Almazan Garza and Canuto Almazan. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
