He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gartin and Jessie Gartin; his wife Patsy Ham; his daughter Laura; and his grandchildren, Reba Gartin and Curtis Childress.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Childress (Rex) and Randal Gartin; his grandchildren, Shiloh Childress, Ginger Lindsey and Travis Gartin; and his siblings, Sherill Lopez of Cimarron, N. M. and Glenn Gartin of Republic, Washington.. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Childress Philippines Mission to Winnsboro Church of Christ, P.O. Box 541, Winnsboro, Texas 75494, in his memory.
