He was predeceased by: his grandmother Angelita Rocha; his mother Lola Chaga Valdez Martinez; his siblings, Raul Valdez, Ismael Valdez, Jose "Popo" Hector Valdez Adame, Janit Gonzales and Dolores Luera; and his daughter Angelica Valdez (Baby G.).
He is survived by: his children, David Valdez, Jr. of Plainview and Brittany Guerra (Daniel Guerra) of Plainview; his siblings, Roy Valdez of Lubbock, Mario Valdez of San Antonio, Rosa Valdez of Plainview and Eva Aguirre of Plainview; and his grandchildren, Zahaira Valdez, Jeremiah Valdez, Yazleen Valdez, Nicolai Valdez, Anais Guerra and Juliana Martinez.
