He was predeceased by: his parents, Bailey Powell and Clara Emma Vaughan Henderson; his wife Nita; his siblings, C. L. Henderson and Oneta Rodgers; and his great grandchildren, Kaylee Scott and Baby Mathis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ginger Mathis (Mike) of Plainview and Mona Gardenhire (Mark) of Albany, Texas.; his grandchildren, Kaci and Kodi Scott of New Home; his great grandchildren, Laney and Mason; his grandchildren, Lindsey and Jeff Griffith of Canyon; his great grandchild Caden (Chesney); his grandchildren, Carley, Caragen, Garrett and Lindsie Mathis of Plainview; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Brody, Collin and Kylie; his grandchildren, Whitney and Caleb Henson of Ropesville; his great grandchildren, Blakely and Hampton; his grandchildren, Austin and Jordan Gardenhire of New Home; his great grandchildren, Cameron and Carter; his grandchildren, Travis and Allison Gardenhire of Temple; his great grandchildren, Chisum, Dixie and Tatum; his sister LaJuan McCormick of Paris; and his brother-in-law Ricky Kellison of Lockney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was recognized for his contributions to the Floyd County 4-H program and was awarded the Silver Spur Adult Leader Award.
