Filemena Zapata Moreno Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Filemena Zapata Moreno (Plainview, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 24, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Antonio Zapata and Petra Benitez Zapata; her daughter JoAnn Moreno; her son-in-law Angel Ramos; her grandsons, Jacob Tijerina, Rene Ochoa II and Solano Benny Rodriguez; and her siblings, Vicky Rendon, Antonia Del, Sophia Velez and Jenaro Zapata.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Moreno, Jr.; her children, Martha Ramos, Diana (Navor Ochoa), Esther (Joe Martinez), Rosalie (Oscar Longoria), Brenda (Joseph O'Mealia), Arturo (Liz Salas), Hector (Aurelia Salas) and Albert Salas; and her brother Saturnino. She is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 99 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors (3605 SW 3rd, Plainview, TX 79072). A Mass was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (2801 N Columbia St, Plainview, TX 79072).
