He is survived by: his children, Francisco Javier Alvarado, Jr. of Birmingham, Alverto Alvarado (Hope) of Morton, Gerardo Alvarado, Jaime Alvarado of Bovina, Texas, Griselda Morales (Pascual) of Bakersfield, Silvia Alvarado of Morton and Jaden Hurtado of Plainview, Texas; and his siblings, Jose Angel Estrada, Teresa Alvarado, Maria Ester Alvarado, Blanca Estrada and Teresa Estrada. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
