It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria (Plainview) Alvarez of Plainview, Texas, who passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria Consuelo Cavazos and Miguel Farias Zuniga; her husband Ricardo Alvarez Sr.; her son-in-law George Garza; and her brothers, Francisco Cerda and Miguel Zuniga Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Noelia Garza of Plainview, Graciela Alvarez (Keith Shannon), Daniel Alvarez (Maria), Ricardo Alvarez, Jr. of Plainview and Jamie Ernest Alvarez of Plainview, Texas; and her siblings, Olga Zuniga Perales, Israel Zuniga, Irma Guerra, Amelia Rivera and Bruno Zuniga. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
