She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Hyder and Lorene Hyder; her husband Joseph C. Owen, Jr. (Jake); and her brothers, Garth Hyder and Melvin Hyder.
She is survived by: her children, Steven C. Owen (Bobbye Owen), Kim O. Voss and Kathy O. Branch (Gary Branch); her grandchildren, Misty Perryman, Joseph C Owen, III, Kristan Krause, Jamie Teague, Poet Collier, Skyler Voss, Creighton Branch, Adilyn Voss and Cagan Branch; and her sister Rita Glasscock.
Norvene's community involvement included serving on the advisory board of RSVP, Plainview Planning and Zoning Board, Crime Stopper's Board, a Soroptimist Charter Member, Plainview Area United Way, as well as an Intercessory Prayer Committee member at First United Methodist Church, Lubbock, Texas.
