He is survived by: his wife Glenda Sue "Red" Gaines; his son Brian Gaines of Plano; his grandchildren, Tashanna, Destinee, Linzy, Kayla, Nicholos, Kieren and Jaden; his great grandchildren, Kavvone, Seren, Malik, Kaden, Kyler, Calvyn, Cyntel and Deshawn; and his great great grandchild Analiyah.
