He was predeceased by: his parents, David Shepherd and Zora Shepherd; his siblings, Bobby and Betty; and his daughter Michele.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel; his sons, Rick Shepherd and Zane Shepherd (Diane); and his grandchildren, Cody Shepherd, Joella Cummings (Larry), Annie Getz (Carl), Tanner Shepherd and Laney Shepherd. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
