He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Gardner Purdy and Thomas Wesley Purdy; his former wife Phyllis; his daughter-in-law Marilyn Purdy; and his aunt Carolyn Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Terry Purdy; his brothers, Tom Purdy (Jan) of Waco and Mike Purdy (Robbie) of Jonesboro; his sons, Gary Purdy of Davidson, Rob Purdy (Sally) of McKinney and Thomas Purdy of Dallas; his granddaughter Madison Werner (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Harper and Collins of Magnolia; and his grandchildren, Davis Purdy (Kaitlyn) of Durham, Jack Purdy of Dallas, ClaraLane Hewlett (Hamilton) of Pensacola, Jacob Sheddy (Mazzerena) of Aubrey, Joseph Sheddy of Denton, Jaxson Rothfuss and Lexie Rothfuss of Euless, Texas..
