He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Waltrip and Elizabeth Waltrip (Shealy); and his brother Larry Waltrip. He is survived by: his wife Kay Waltrip (Porter); his daughters, Terri Kropp (Todd) of Plano and Karen Chaney (John) of Murphy, Texas; his grandchildren, Scott King (Keriann), Kelsey Humphrey (Doug), Tori Crow (Cameron), Bailey McKeig (Ben), Jeremy Chaney and Keith Chaney (Kaitlin); his great grandchildren, Emory, Evans, Easton King, Liam, Eloise, Charlotte and Gweneviere Humphrey; and his brother Phil Waltrip (Brenda).
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Hunter's Glen Baptist Church (4001 Custer Rd, Plano, TX 75023). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the Hunters Glen Baptist Church (4001 Custer Rd, Plano, TX 75023). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
