He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Gaither and Annie Mae Gaither. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Gaither of Plano, Texas; his son James W. Gaither (Sarah) of Lewisville, Texas; and his siblings, Anna G. Jackson of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Ray Gaither of Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Allen Family Funeral (2112 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023).
