It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel Lynn Boles (Plano, Texas), who passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Boles and John Boles; and his brothers, John Boles Jr. (Linda) of Colorado Springs and Andy Boles (Lesli) of Dallas. He is survived by: his wife Janet Darlene Hussey Boles; his sons, Brad (Ann) of Plano and Jeff (Malinda) of Norman, Oklahoma.; his grandchildren, Jake, Libby and Nicholas Boles; his brother-in-law Dr Jim Hussey (Judy); and his nieces and nephews, Julie, Mike, Hayley, Noah and Jennifer.

“I worked with Joel for years in Tomball with BJ Services. I joined BJ in 1998, but before that I met Joel when I was a customer. He made such an impression on me as a friendly, down to earth, gentleman. With BJ we became close colleagues, as we both worked on acidizing, and he was a constant resource of information, expertise and lab support for me. But more so, he was a great friend to me, as he was with so many others, who are reminiscing online these days. We all miss him. Leonard Kalfayan”
