He is survived by: his wife Victoria Harres Akers; his children, Tyler Akers (Kristen Akers) and Jan-Michael Jihan Wells (Michael Wells); his grandchildren, Austin Wells, Collin Wells, Parker Wells, Valerie Akers and Emily Akers; and his siblings, Ottie "Bud" Akers (Marcia) and Era Rae Akers.
