He was predeceased by: his parents, Modest Turner Foster Sr. and Barbara Jean Wilkerson Foster; and his brother Modest Foster Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Saundra Foster; his children, Nicole Foster, Michael Foster Jr. (Stephanie Woolf) and Melody Foster; his grandchildren, Arielle Foster and Arya Foster; and his sister Michelle Foster.
