He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving "Bud" Francis and Mae Leona Höeler Long. He is survived by: his children, Robert Long (Sabrina), Kimberly Neff (Michael) and Jaclyn Osterhaus (Tony); the mother of his children Ann Heiny Long; his grandchildren, Kasey Neff, Adrianna McKinzie Long, Kaitlyn Neff, Tyler Osterhaus, Ryan Neff, Jacob Long and Jenna Osterhaus; his sister Rosemary Wootton; his nephew Jeffrey Wootton; his nieces, Jennifer Hillerman and Nancy Long; his great-nephew Brendan Lynch; and his great-niece Meghan Lynch.
A burial will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211). A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Allen Family Funeral (2112 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023).
