He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Dowdy and Eva Jane Dowdy; his daughter Rebecca Dowdy McCluskey; and his in-laws, La Merle, Robert C. Koehl and Ernest "Bubba" Wehman, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Mary Dowdy; his siblings, Janie Raye Wehman and Preston; his sister-in-law Lynn Dowdy; his daughters, Sarah (Robby Evans), Meredith (Guy Rutherford) and Ruth Dowdy; his son-in-law Brandon McCluskey; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Courtney, Jeremy of Cody, JC, Cali, Joris, Robert, McAda, Bennack, Lilley, Rex, Devon and Dane; his great grandchildren, Alexandra, Cassandra, Jareth, Samantha, Laney, Brody, Chezneigh, Hattie, Jaxon, Sayler, Grayson, Liam, Emersyn, Khloe and Celeste; and his in-laws, Carol Anne Koehl, Catherine Austin and Rosalind Cook. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
