It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marvin Elmo Deckert of Pleasanton, Texas, born in Refugio, Texas, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Bertha Mae Cumi Deckert (Weaver) and Elmo Deckert; his wife Florence "Flo" Jane Deckert; his children, David Allen Deckert, William Beck, Richard Beck and Claudette Beck; his great grandchildren, Victoria Deckert, Piper Leeann Richardson and Parker Lee Richardson; and his siblings, Barbara Louise Deckert Thompson (L.), Shirley Ruth Deckert Ham (Clarence), Esther Mae Deckert Everett, Earlene Cumi Deckert and Frank "Jackie" Ross Deckert.

He is survived by : his children, Marvin Lynn Deckert (Bonnie) of Fred, Judy Deckert Odom (Steve) of Rockport and Sandy Deckert Hearne of Burnet; and his siblings-in-law, Nelson Lloyd Everett and Beth Riley Deckert. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandsons.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hurley Funeral Home (118 W Oaklawn Rd, Pleasanton, TX 78064). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Island Methodist Church (3030 De Vilbiss Ln, San Antonio, TX 78264). A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Oak Island Cemetery.
