He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Laverne (Brewer) and Eugene Thomas Childress; and his former wife Lynn Childress. He is survived by: his wife Judy Childress of Pollok; his son Dwayne; his daughter-in-law Amber Childress of Pollok; his stepson Adam Harper of Rusk; his grandchildren, Westin Childress, Haylie Jo Childress, Colt Childress, Kordie Zeilman, Kade Harper, Aidin Harper and Abbey Harper; his brother Dale; his sister-in-law Denise Childress of Huntington; his sister Shela; and his brother-in-law Greg Stoddard of Huntington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church (268 County Rd 726, Nacogdoches, TX 75964). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
