With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Florence Vassar Simon (Port Arthur, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 28, 2025 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her husband Norris Simon, Sr.; her parents, Winzy Vassar, Sr. and Duna Hebert Vassar; her son Mark Simon; her son-in-law Joseph Collette; her grandchildren, Lonnie Cormier III and Frank Joseph Mannino; and her siblings, Samuel Vassar, Richard Vassar and Janice Hartzog.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Simon Collette of Groves and Norris Simon, Jr. (Peggy) of Port Acres; her daughter-in-law Shirley Morgan Simon of Vinton, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Angela Mannino (Steve), Joey Collette (Vanessa), Sean Collette, Celeste Simon Cormier, Deke Simon (Jada), Angela Irene Findley (Larry), Kerri Kelly and Julie Coleman; and her siblings, Winzy Vassar, Jr. of Sulfur, Louisiana, Robert Vassar and Jane Vassar. She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
