He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Mesa, Sr. and Jesusita Perez Mesa; his siblings, Maria Guadalupe Mesa, Jesse Mesa and Rudy Mesa; and his grandson Romulo Mesa III (Trey).
He is survived by: his wife Alicia De Trevino Mesa; his children, Romulo Mesa, Jr., Rey Mesa (Bernadete) and Margaret Alvarez (Frankie); and his siblings, Rose Lawson (Ray), Maria Gloria Trevino, Tomas Mesa, Jr. and Manuel Mesa (Rhonda). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
