He was predeceased by: his father Ygnacio Hernandez (Herlinda Villarreal Hernandez); his wife Genevieve "Beva" Garcia Hernandez; his son Christopher; his mother Herlinda; and his siblings, Mary Lou Guerra, Juanita, Gonzalo, Lela, Ramon, Jose Maria, Lucila, Lalo, Andres and Eugenio Hernandez.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Hernandez of Amory, Antonio Hernandez (Anita) of Baytown, Luis Hernandez (Lori) of Kemmerer, Wyoming, Nancy Perez (Pedro) of Grand Prairie and Debra Countryman (Russell) of Keller, Texas; his foster children, Christopher Garcia of Premont, James Garcia of Premont and Amber Garcia of Premont; and his siblings, Thomas Hernandez, Corina Guajardo, Pauline Garza and Esther Munoz. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:55 AM at 1208 S St Marys St, Falfurrias, TX 78355. A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:25 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church (235 SW 4th St, Premont, TX 78375). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 12:10 PM to 12:40 PM at the Premont Cemetery.
