He is survived by: his wife Mary Vela; his son Armando Vela (Alyssa) of San Antonio; his granddaughter Gracie Vela (Eliut) of Progreso; his mother Ninfa Vela; his grandchildren, Jayden Vela, Avaree L. Vela, Mason Vela, Jeremy Munoz and Giselle Munoz; and his siblings, Armando Vela (Socorro), Eloy Vela (Mary Lou), Humberto Vela (Victoria), Cristela Vela Reyes (Chendo), Dominga Torres (Simon), Nora Vela and Senaida Morales (Javier). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
