He was predeceased by: his wife Amelia Ann Hignight; his parents, James Robert Vaughan and Emma Elizabeth Stevenson (Leo); and his siblings, Sandra Pate, Grady, Bobby and Jimmy Vaughan.
He is survived by: his children, Carla DiMarco, Larry Vaughan (Mary) and Edward Vaughan (Robbie); and his friend Peggy Douglas. He is also survived by grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel (5396 TX-37, Mineola, TX 75773).
