He was predeceased by: his parents, Mateo Reta and Inez Gonzalez; his wife Francisca Sanchez Garcia Reta; and his children, Ricardo Reta, Olga Cerda and Elvia Cordero.
He is survived by: his children, Geronimo Reta Jr. (Sonia), Rene Reta (Delia), Ramiro Reta, Ruben Reta and Rosa Linda Trevino (J. Eddy Trevino). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
