He was predeceased by : his parents, Mertaugh Cantrell and Ida Evelyn Cantrell of Trenton, Tennessee.; his daughter Beverly; his wife Gail; and his sister Mary Jane (Revels).

He is survived by : his son Kevin (Carolyn); his granddaughter Tiffanie Clark (Bradley); his great grandchildren, Weston and Emmie; and his siblings, Jackie, Gary, David and Emily (Wiltse). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
