He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Holmes Bates; his children, Darryl Lloyd Bates, Jr. and Shaveala Bates; his stepdaughters, Markesha Clark, Timeka Barnes and Alicia Harvey; his siblings, Gregory Bates, Vickie Bates, Krista Bates and Tommie Maxie; and his grandchildren, Heaven, Carter, Ian, Xavier, Shirah, Roger, Aiden, Tamya and Kyle. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
