He was predeceased by: his parents, Althea Hays and Robert Hays; his son Daniel Hays; and his brother Jonathan Hays. He is survived by: his wife Laura Hays; his children, Sarah, Ellen and Eric; his grandson Kian Mercado; his brothers, Christopher Hays and Carl Hays; and his cousins, Mark Kot, Leslie Noyes, Christine Kot and Ann Adkins. He is also survived by his wife and children, and only grandchild.
