She was predeceased by: her parent J. W. Herrington; and her brother Robert King Wilkerson. She is survived by: her husband Ronald Vanderslice; her daughters, Kathy Carter (Jason) of Harlingen, TX and Karen Hernandez (Joe) of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, Helen, Ethan Carter and Tucker Rogerzinsky; her brother James Herrington (Brenda) of Sublime, TX; her siblings-in-law, Madeline Fortune (Bubba) of New Waverly, TX and Charles Vanderslice of Corpus Christi, TX; and her devoted companion Scruffy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lakewood Village Booster Club to support community activities.
