She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Haynie and Opal Haynie; and her siblings, Glynda Mitchell and Wendell Haynie. She is survived by: her friend Bunco; her son Stephen Smith (Tonya); her siblings, Nancy Phillips (Chris) of Woodbridge, California, Thomas Haynie of Cleburne, Texas, Melissa Lawson (Ronnie) of Temple, Texas and Ricky Haynie (Pam) of Lampasas, Texas; and her grandchildren, Jordan Smith and Sidney Walmsley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animals Have Hearts Too in Lorena, Texas, in honor of Gaynell's lifelong love for animals.
