He was predeceased by: his parents, David Taplin and Bernice Cleaver Taplin. He is survived by: his wife Ida Taplin; his sons, Kenneth McGinnis, Robert Taplin, Jr. and David Taplin; and his sister-in-law Lorine Swindell (Dennis). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
