He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Hannah Leon and Mary Hamilton (Williams); his parents-in-law, Delbert and Gladys Parker; his son D. K. Hamilton; his wife Brenda; his son Todd Hamilton; his grandsons, Justin Hamilton and Blake Hamilton (Brandy); and his great grandchildren, Braxton and Brittyn. He was also cherished by sister, Sandra Guest as well as nephews, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church of Point Enterprise.
