He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Arlin and Thelma Rash (West); his brothers, Ronald Dean Rash and Rayford Rash; his nephew Tommy Sanderson; his nieces, Phyllis Silver and Betty Jean Rash; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Jo Rash and Reuben Reimer.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Rash of Rockdale; his children, Russell Rash of Minerva, Teresa Breithaupt of Rockdale and Tracy Lewis (Bobby) of Teague; his sister Glennetta Sanderson of San Saba; his grandchildren, Lance Lewis, Lacie Edwards (Trey), Linsey Lewis, Breann Breithaupt, Bradley Breithaupt, Brande Breithaupt, Justin Breithaupt, Layne Rash, Kaitlyn Rash and McKenzie Trembly; his great grandchildren, Madison Lewis, Ryker Edwards, Lanie Lewis, Rylee Edwards and Brantley Dyer; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Reimer of Brenham and Al Steinbach (Audrey) of Brenham.
