It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Marquez of Rockdale, Texas, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Marquez, Sr.; her parents, Gregor Cruz and Pauline Cruz; and her granddaughter Shelby Guthrie. She is survived by: her children, Melissa Leslie (Carey), Roseanne Guthrie and Fred Marquez, Jr.; her grandchildren, Lindsey Mikulec (Cory), Allison Guthrie, Austin Guthrie, Elena Marquez, Kiera Marquez, Gabriel Marquez and Nevin Marquez; her great grandchildren, Cooper Mikulec, Brooklyn Mikulec, Braylen Gibson and Levi Gibson; her siblings, Joe Cruz (Judy), Jesse Cruz and Polly Bowers (Harry); and her pet Honey.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home (1041 US-79, Rockdale, TX 76567-4513). A rosary was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St Joseph Catholic Church (234 San Gabriel St, Rockdale, TX 76567). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery (2811 Old Kurten Rd, Bryan, TX 77803).
