He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Neal and Mary Neal (Walters); his former wife Norma Jean Moody; his wife Mary Carolyn Scarpa; his son Robert James Neal; and his siblings, Robert, Charles, William Neal, Mary Lou Sherman and Martha June Porter.
He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca Jo Smith (Asa) of Quinlan, TX; his grandchildren, Riley Smith (Megan) of Ft. Worth, TX, Brittany Ferreira (Charles) of Richardson, TX and Claire Rathavongsa; and his great grandchildren, Charles Ferreira (Cash), June Ferreira, Sawyer Smith, Avery Smith, Asa John (AJ), JC, Cecillia and Zeke Rathavongsa. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends.
